Solomon Burke , a soul music pioneer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee whose songs blended soul, gospel, country and R&B, has died.

Farm Aid raises $2 Million

This weekend's Farm Aid benefit concert in Milwaukee raised over $2 million, from ticket sales alone, for the owners of family-run farms. The final gross from this year's concert, which drew 35,000 people to Miller Park baseball stadium, won't be known for a couple of weeks, but it is expected to be very good, a Farm Aid official told Milwaukee's WISN. The Farm Aid organization added they'd begin reviewing grant applications from farmers soon.

When Rock Band adds tracks from Jimi Hendrix's album, Are You Experienced?, next week, the game's library of downloadable songs will surpass 2,000 tracks.  The song "Are You Experienced?" will, in fact, be the 2,000th song added to the library.

Ozzy Osbourne is covering John Lennon in honor of the late Beatle's 70th birthday this Saturday.  Ozzy premiered the music video for "How?" -- from the 1971 album Imagine -- on Popeater.com, while the song can be downloaded for free at iTunes, who will donate proceeds from the downloads to Amnesty International.
