A former Sheffield Junior High School teacher was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday for the 2009 rape and sodomy of a 15-year-old boy, The Times Daily reported.

Amanda Watkins, 39, who was convicted of second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy in November, showed no emotion when Colbert County Circuit Court Judge Jackie Hatcher announced the sentence, the newspaper reported.
