Republicans Jan Brewer, Herman Cain To Visit Huntsville This Weekend

Two political figures who have made a name for themselves for various reasons are in Alabama this weekend.  One is known for her strong approach in battling illegal immigration. The other, for the political position for which he's running.

Herman Cain is making stops on his Common Sense Solutions bus tour from Montgomery to Huntsville.  The Republican presidential candidate will be asking Alabamians for their votes and promoting his platform.

From tailgating to rallies across the state, you can bet Cain will talk about his 9-9-9 plan, which promotes a 9 percent business flat tax, 9 percent individual flat tax, and a 9 percent national sales tax.

On Friday at 9 a.m., the former Godfather's Pizza president from Atlanta, Georgia will be in Anniston for a Tea Party breakfast reception. At 11 a.m., he'll be asking for Talladega's votes at Town Square. At 1:30 p.m., he goes to the Rainy Day Patriots Birmingham Rally, and, at 2:30, he's in Homewood for a qualifying news conference at the Alabama GOP Headquarters.

Then, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., he'll be in Montgomery for a Dan Morris rally. Morris is the radio host of the politicaltalk show "The Dan Morris Show."

Cain will be campaigning in Alabama on Saturday, too. He will be in Tuscaloosa in the morning, in Birmingham again at 12:30 p.m., and finally in Huntsville at 6 p.m.

The final stop on his state-wide tour is at an Alabama Federation of Republican Women gathering. That's at theHuntsville Marriott, next to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is the second big political figure coming to the Rocket City this weekend.

She's perhaps best known for enacting an immigration law that was formerly considered the nation's toughest, until Alabama lawmakers passed a law of a similar nature.

Governor Brewer, a Republican, will visit four different locations in Huntsville on Friday.
