Commission names Jeff Rich as new county attorney

Madison County Attorney Julian Butler announced his retirement Friday morning at the regularly scheduled Madison County Commission meeting.

Butler, who for more than 35 years has represented Madison County, described the years as "the most satisfying years of my professional life. I have served as legal counsel for 20 different Commissioners, five Sheriffs, three Tax Assessors, three Tax Collectors, three Probate Judges and two License Directors. I thank the Commission, each of you share a common denominator - you  want to do the right thing for the citizens and make Madison County a better place to live."
