MONTGOMERY, AL -- Of the millions of dollars that flowed this year through political action committees once operated by Steve Raby, most of it has come from the Alabama Education Association PAC, not gambling interests.

Raby, the Democratic nominee in the Nov. 2 election for the 5th Congressional District seat, distanced himself from the PACs, saying he relinquished control of them before he qualified to run for office in mid-February.

Prior to that, he operated four PACs - TN Valley Citizens for Economic Development, Progress for Alabama PAC, Senator Majority PAC and The Real Democrat PAC.
