Rocket City United Brings Academy Soccer Experience to Madison

Rocket City United is bringing the soccer Academy experience to the Madison area. RCU will work with
local Madison Soccer Coach Moises Ramirez in organizing a group of teams to complete locally
representing the inaugural class of Rocket City United Development Academy (RCUDA).
The Madison RCUDA Center of Excellence (COE) will be comprised of three teams: a U9, a U10 and a U12. With 14 players
in each division, these teams will be instructed in the similar fashion of Barcelona’s La Masia and Ajax
Jong, world renown soccer training academies.
The program is slated to start 3/5 and end 5/19. We will have 6 local games, one tournament in Hoover
and one in Madison. The training curriculum will be provided by Felix Obilo, the RCUDA Head Youth
Coach. Felix started as the RCU center midfielder this past season after graduating from Bethel
University. While at Bethel, Felix captained the team, won an NAIA National Championship and was
selected as First Team All-American. Felix will coach 15 of the training sessions, provide the curriculum
for the other sessions, train our own Madison COE coaches, and provide insight on game performances.

The Rocket City United Development Academy

General Overview:
Modeled in a style similar to Ajax Jong the Ajax Academy and Barcelona’s La Masia, Rocket City United
Development Academy (RCUDA) is a local organization designed to ensure players develop a lasting
enjoyment of the game, learn how to play in the philosophy of the US Soccer Federation and provide the
professional structure needed for players to excel.

RCUDA implements a “philosophy of play”, as defined by the US Soccer Federation, to produce
attractive, attack-minded, dynamic and creative soccer. The main goal of RCUDA is to grow fluid
intelligent soccer players familiar with the Academy’s philosophy of play. The immediate objective is to
measure our success through positive and long lasting relationships it creates with the players, their
families, community members and businesses.

RCUDA is a player development soccer Academy. This means our primary goal is to train players by
emphasizing the improvement of the individual and development of the team first and to win matches
second. Through concentration on youth development, we prepare players for success at the senior
levels. Youth players are developed in preparation to one day play on a RCU Senior Team.

Mission Statement:
To provide an enhanced youth development soccer academy that aligns with the United States
Soccer Federation Curriculum.

To bridge the division that currently separates recreational, club and adult soccer, by providing an
arena where players can come together to further develop their skills with players of similar attitude, work
ethic and abilities.
