Last Saturday, the Huntsville Havoc were feeling good after a thrilling come from behind overtime win against the Mississippi Riverkings.
The excitement lasted until Tuesday, when they fell flat in a 4-1 loss on the road in Columbus and came limping back to town, trying to prepare for a tough homestand against Pensacola and the Cottonmouths on back to back nights.
The Havoc came out absolutely flying against the Ice Flyers on Friday night. They fell behind early when former Havoc forward Mike Carter scored for Pensacola about 6 minutes into the game, but after that it was all Huntsville. Denis Sicard and Ryan Kretzer both delighted the fans with two goals a piece and Ray Ortiz and Justin Fox also contributed to the fun. However, with the good guys up 5-2, things started to slip. The Flyers notched two quick goals and were suddenly within one of tying things up late in the third. Sicard's second goal of the night gave the team enough breathing room to skate off to the locker room with a victory in hand. But the snakes lie waiting for them the next night.

The Columbus Cottonmouths had every reason in the world to feel confident. The snakes were 4-0 against the Havoc going into Saturday night. Early in the game, it was evident the streak would continue.
