A man is in custody and has been charged in connection with several burglaries in south Huntsville, police said Tuesday.

In a statement spokesman Harry Hobbs said Daniel Patrick Bell, 27, of Huntsville was arrested late Monday for "several burglaries he committed near Grissom High School."

The school is located on Bailey Cove Road north of Willowbrook Road.

Bell was booked on charges of third-degree burglary and second-degree theft. He was being held bonds totaling $20,000.
